Former Leeds United figure makes shock ‘demand’ of first team players – Whites are anticipating moves

After last summer’s ”clear out” at Elland Road, some Leeds United players are set to be next in line to leave the club. Especially when it comes to the club’s youngsters.

Last summer saw Leeds lose Cody Drameh, Ian Poveda and Kristoffer Klaesson. Most of these youngsters were part of Victor Orta’s youth recruitment policy. Some moves have paid off; like Crysencio Summerville and Pascal Struijk.

But some other players are stuck in a sort of limbo. They are part of the first team, but do not really see themselves getting a breakthrough soon enough. This summer could see a trio exit Elland Road, as Darko Gyabi, Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood have been made available for sale.

Stuart Dallas offers some surprising advice to Leeds United stars

Stuart Dallas was a great servant to Leeds United. The player was a swiss army knife during his time at the club, which was unfortunately cut short due to injuries. The 34-year old retired last year, and was given a great send off by the club.

He has made some interesting comments this week. Dallas has suggested that first team duo Mateo Joseph and Isaac Schmidt consider moves away from Elland Road to gain some valuable playing time:

“For sure, they need to be playing football at the ages that they are,” he said speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“Mateo Joseph, everybody expected him to have a decent season this year and there’s a lot of quality there, but it hasn’t quite worked out. For me he needs to go somewhere and get game time, but I think the Premier League is a whole different ballgame. For me, he’s one that probably needs to go and play.”

He also touched on last year’s summer signing Isaac Schmidt.

“Isaac Schmidt is one that has come in and not played a lot of football. Believe it or not, I was at the game when Northern Ireland played Switzerland, and for somebody who hadn’t played a lot of football, he was brilliant. He’s done alright since he’s come in but again he’s someone that wants to be playing. Do you wanna be sitting on the bench in the Premier League, or do you want to be bettering your career?”

Joseph and Schmidt should consider moves away

Out of seven players at Leeds United to have had less than 20 starts this season, four of them were aged 24 or under.

For some peculiar reason, some youngsters saw less game time than others. No one really gave an explanation for it, but Daniel Farke slowly introduced the likes of Ramazani and Schmidt to the lineup late in the season.

There is an argument to be made that both Joseph and Schmidt should leave for game time, but that decision will ultimately lie with the Leeds United boss.
