Leeds United are taking steps to improve the off the field operations at Elland Road.
The club has undergone internal changes over the past month. On the football side of things, a huge chance was made in the Leeds United recruitment department. Gretar Steinsson left his Technical Director role at Leeds United to join 49ers Enterprises as executive global football structure after just over a year.
Jordan Miles also left his role as Head of Recruitment after joining earlier this year. Alex Davies was moved up to replace Miles as Head of Recruitment. Davies had spent over 13 years at Leeds United as an analyst. The rest of the recruitment team stays the same as Adam Underwood and Nick Hammond remain in their roles as head of football operations and club transfer consultant respectively.
Daniel Farke’s role in recruitment is set to grow, after the Leeds boss pushed for the signing of Ao Tanaka. The Japanese international has been one of the best signings in the league.

Leeds United legend set for return
In order to improve the standing of the club, Leeds have been planning an expansion of Elland Road. Following the takeover of 49ers Enterprises and the latest Red Bull deal, the club is taking steps to appeal to a global commercial market. The plan is to expand the stadium to 53,000 capacity. To do this, the club have brought former city councillor Lucinda Yeadon to help with the redevelopment plans at Elland Road.
Leeds have also began to work on plans to strengthen the relations between the fans and the club. CEO Angus Kinnear has confirmed that the club are “working on a proposal” that would see Lucas Radebe move into an ambassadorial role. This was confirmed by the minutes of the Supporters Advisory Board (SAB) meeting:
“Katie (Watkins) asks about Lucas Radebe’s relationship with the club going forward. AK says club is working on a proposal for ambassadorial agreements.”
Lucas Radebe is one of the most beloved players in Leeds United history and starred for 10 years at the club in one of their greatest era. “The Chief” made over 250 appearances for the club and was made captain of the club in the 1998/99 season.

Making a club legend an ambassador is a shrewd move, his connection with the club puts him in a unique position to be a positive influence. Leeds will only benefit from such a decision moving forward.
