Since Leeds United gained promotion to the Premier League last week, fans and pundits have been vocal about a recent issue at the club. Over a week ago, a shock report came out concerning Daniel Farke.
The news claimed that Leeds’ ownership were looking to sack the German coach this summer. They reportedly doubt Farke’s ability to keep the club in the Premier League, looking at his record at Norwich City. Since the news came out, multiple reports have linked many big names to arrive at Elland Road.
Farke himself said he is not surprised about the news surrounding his future. The Leeds boss is currently focused on this weekend. The Whites could win the league title on the final day, away from home to Plymouth.

Simon Grayson is the latest man to voice his opinion on this Daniel Farke news. The 55-year old was in charge at Elland Road between 2008 and 2012. In a recent interview with Planet Sport (via TEAMtalk), Grayson backed Farke to guide the team for the long-term future:
“One hundred percent Daniel deserves to take Leeds United into the Premier League next season.
“It’s been a remarkable season for them and the biggest accolade you can give him is that there has been no hangover whatsoever after losing the play-off final to Southampton last season.
The 49ers and Paraag Marathe have made no statement denying the reports. Something which Grayson feels is ridiculous as Farke has the fanbase on his side.
“He’s got the players and supporters onside and to produce the performances they have – with all the goals scored – has been absolutely fantastic.”
“He could take Leeds up with 100 points if they win at Plymouth and the goal difference is probably going to be the highest ever.
“I’m not quite sure where the rumours are coming from, but I’d be very surprised if Daniel is not the Leeds manager when the Premier League season starts in August.”
Simon Grayson is right
The former Leeds boss is right, Daniel Farke has 100% done enough to keep his job for next season. Farke took over the club fresh from their relegation and turned things around, unfortunately he failed at his first attempt to return to the Premier League.
This season has been even more impressive. Losing Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville and still being on course to win a 100 points is an incredible achievement.

I think it’s 50/50 whether Farke will be in post for next season, especially given we have inexperienced American ownership and Kinnear is leaving to be replaced by Underwood. Yes, Farke didn’t do well with Norwich in the premier league but he apparently didn’t get the financial support needed for consolidation. When we had the ‘blip’ in March, losing vital points to drawn games, I thought we were heading for the play-offs again and we all know how that’s ended in the past. But he obviously got the team back on track and when we win at Plymouth, I think the hierarchy should stick with him and give him the money needed to buy at least six new players with premiership experience, which will be a real sign of commitment. If they decide to let him go, I can’t think of an obvious replacement (but definitely not Gerrard) and we… Read more »
