Leeds United were forced to lose a number of top players in the summer transfer after their heartbreaking loss in the playoff final. The Whites had to bid goodbye to several stars not only for financial reasons but also because they had offers to play in better leagues.
The money generated from the sales of the players allowed Leeds to rebuild their squad and it seems to be paying off. They sit third in the table and are one of the favourites to earn automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Crysencio Summerville was one of the players who moved on from Leeds last summer after being the standout attacking force in the Championship last season.
Several top Premier League clubs wanted to sign him but the Dutchman decided to join West Ham as he was clear about wanting to be a regular even in the top flight.
Leeds earned a good fee from his sale and could receive a further windfall of cash if Summerville earns his first cap for the Netherlands while being a West Ham player.
The Dutch winger was signed from Feyenoord and it was not all smooth sailing for him when he first arrived at Leeds.

The West Ham winger admitted that moving to Leeds and England was a massive call and he had doubts about moving to to the Yorkshire giants when he did.
He conceded that there were several ups and downs when he was at Leeds but stressed that he is grateful for the experience as it made him the player he has become.
“It was a very big decision to go to England. In the beginning, I had my doubts, but then you go anyway”, the winger told Dutch magazine Voetbal International.
“When I look back, I am very grateful for all the lessons and the ups and downs. That made me the person who I am now.”
