Former Premier League star accuses Leeds United star for ‘bottling’ promotion – Leeds supporters need to rally behind the team

Leeds United are under pressure from all corners as they seek to return to winning ways against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Saturday. A run of one win in five games has meant Leeds fans are worried about missing out on promotion for the second year running. And a regular Leeds detractor is finding ways to poke fun at the Whites.

Daniel Farke and the Leeds United players are under siege as they prepare for a big Championship game at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, but the pressure is only piling on.

Leeds are in desperate need of three points, and the supporters are on edge as they do not want to go through the rigmarole of the playoffs again this season.

The Whites remain a club that continue to attract headlines and observations despite being in the Championship, and a former Premier League striker has trained his guns at Leeds.

“Leeds United star bottled promotion last season, and will do it again” – Gabriel Agbonlahor

Agbolahor is a known Leeds-baiter and he is again at it to pile more pressure on Leeds and the players ahead of the Luton Town game this weekend.

He trained his guns at Illan Meslier while accusing him of bottling promotion last season for Leeds and insisted that he would do it again this year.

The former striker even found a way to involve Marcelo Bielsa in his tirade against the Yorkshire giants.

“Leeds United are throwing points away, left, right and centre”, the former striker said on talkSPORT.

“Meslier – chucking the ball into his own goal. He bottled promotion last season, and he will do it again.

“Bring back Bielsa’s buckets because Leeds United are miles off it.”

Leeds fans now need to back the players and help develop the siege mentality

Leeds supporters are rightly annoyed at the way their team have chucked away an advantageous position in the promotion race for the second season running.

They also have the right to complain against some of the decisions Farke has made on team selection and the unwavering loyalty he has shown towards some players.

Can you name the season these 10 Leeds United shirts are from?

However, it’s time Leeds rally around the players and help in developing the siege mentality that the team need to get over the line this season.

And nothing will bring together the fans more than a known Leeds hater like Agbonlahor going after the club and one of the players in the squad.

Leeds will need their vocal travelling fans to make themselves heard when the players step on the pitch at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.
