Former Premier League star gives Daniel Farke sack verdict – Leeds United silent on recent development

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke demands some respect. So many reports have come out in recent weeks suggesting that the 49ers want him out of Elland Road.

But the German’s credentials are solid. He was hired to bring the club back to the top flight, and he has delivered. Farke almost sent Leeds straight back up last season, but stumbled in the playoff final.

Losing three of the club’s best players did not derail him, he just retooled the squad to challenge again. Now, at the end of the season, he has delivered the Championship with a 100 points and 95 goals scored.

QUIZ: Can you name the team Leeds United sold these players to?

Troy Deeney and Alex Crook were having a discussion on TalkSport about how Championship teams fare when they are promoted:

“…I think people keep getting fixated on the last two seasons because we’ve seen Fulham go up and are now fighting for Europe.

Deeney then made a bold claim that swapping Daniel Farke for a coach like Sean Dyche would give them a better chance of survival.

“That’s happened in the last five years, so it’s a case of going up and not having the right recruitment strategy and not having an understanding of having a style of play and tweaking it to stay up. If we gave Leeds Sean Dyche, would you put money on them staying up?”

Crook was hesitant to answer the question: “Not necessarily… You give them a chance.”

Leeds need to back Daniel Farke again

News has resurfaced this month over claims that head coaches around Europe are being offered the Leeds job. Paraag Marathe shut down the rumours when Leeds won the Championship, but the links have not stopped. Just this week, a Real Madrid coach was in the news being linked with the job at Elland Road.

The Whites need to do something about it. They have backed Daniel Farke once, they can do it again. This summer is not the time for distractions, the team is preparing for the Premier League. Pre season will start soon, and new signings will arrive in West Yorkshire. The least the club can do is confirm their head coach for next season.
