Leeds United know that they will need a lot of quality if they are to survive in the Premier League. Despite hitting the 100-point mark, and scoring 95 goals, newly promoted teams do not often translate this to the top level.
Ipswich Town, Southampton and Leicester City were all relegated from the Premier League just a year after being promoted. The Foxes had 97 points and scored 89 goals, while Ipswich had 96 points and scored 92 goals. This is not the first season all three promoted sides have gone down, it also happened last season.
Leeds know the task ahead, and will need to address the weaknesses in the squad in the summer window. One area the team seem to be focused on in the recent weeks is the attack.

Troy Parrott, Cameron Archer and George Hirst have been linked with moves to Elland Road over the last month. The latest report suggests that the Whites are seriously interested in signing Jamie Vardy. The 38-year old will be available as a free agent this summer after his contract with Leicester City expired.
Former scout Mick Brown explained why Leeds will make a serious push to sign the former Premier League winner:
“Jamie Vardy will be a target for Leeds. They like to get on top of teams at Elland Road, it’s like wave after wave of attack.
“They don’t think the strikers they’ve got at the moment are good enough to score regular goals for them in the Premier League.
“Vardy would fit that bill, he’ll be on the end of the chances they create, he’d be excellent in that regard.
“Plus, he’s got that experience in the Premier League which is so valuable to promoted sides.”
Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford will not be enough for the Premier League
This season, Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford were the main backups for Joel Piroe. The duo combined to score just three goals in the Championship.

Piroe scored 19 this season, and has shown he is a great goal scorer over the last two years. But his overall game is questionable, and the club have concerns over how he will fit in the Premier League. If Leeds do get Jamie Vardy, that move alone boosts the quality of their attack.
