Leeds United had one of the better Championship seasons last year – hitting 100 points and scoring 95 goals is no easy feat. Daniel Farke did a great job in the promotion campaign.

After losing three key players in Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter, many counted the Whites out from the promotion race. The summer window did not inspire confidence, as Leeds only rushed to complete key deals late in the window.

Despite all this Daniel Farke navigated the season, and delivered for the 49ers – bringing Leeds back to the top flight.

Not long after winning promotion, many pundits said they were not convinced about Farke’s ability in the Premier League. Jamie O’Hara was on TalkSport discussing the German’s competence before he had coached a game in the top flight:

“Listen, fairplay, you fully deserved the win,” O’Hara said, talking to a Leeds fan.

“You were the way better side. Daniel Farke has started the season well,” O’Hara added.

“There were question marks over him,”

“I think he was probably up there among the favourites to get sacked, early doors. But that’s definitely not going to be the case, now.”

Leeds have gotten a great start to the season so far with seven points in five games. Daniel Farke has guided his team to big results against Everton, Newcastle and Wolves. The team have definitely shown that they are not pushovers, and will fight for their survival.

Leeds United will surprise many people this season

The Whites’ start to the season has surprised many. A lot of people thought Daniel Farke’s could be sitting at the bottle of the table after the first five games. But slowly, Leeds are winning over the people who tipped them to be relegated. Darren Bent is the latest pundit to speak positively on Leeds’ chances of survival.

“They’ve done well, really well. Good result against Wolves, I know Wolves are not quite at it at the moment.” he said on TalkSport drive live.

“But yeah, good result off the back of, what was it, getting beaten by Fulham, drawing with Newcastle, which again is not a bad result.

“But you’re right, you’re sitting on a lot of question marks around Daniel Farke and his Premier League credentials, and he’s given Leeds a great chance of staying in the league this year.

“I mean, great result on the weekend.”
