Leeds United picked up another huge win as they continue their fight for survival. It did not come easy, as they had to face Marco Silva’s side who were unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions.
Going into the game, both sides knew it was not going to be easy. Silva himself admitted that Leeds are a much different side than they were when they visited Craven Cottage a few months ago.
The last time the two sides met, the game was decided by a late own goal from Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Fulham fans make huge admission after Leeds United loss
On Saturday afternoon, Leeds began the game flying out of the blocks. Fulham had no answer for them as they created chance after chance. The game could have easily ended up with a bigger scoreline, but the Leeds players were very poor in front of goal. It took a late goal from Lukas Nmecha to seal all three points for the home side.
And after the game, Fulham fans admitted that they were completely outplayed and deserved to lose the match:
”One of those performances was coming, and Leeds got what they deserved in the end, as gutting as it was to be so close to escaping with a point.” on Fulham fan posted on X.
Another added: ”Leeds completely deserved the win- just one of those days we have to quickly move past.”
‘Some fans blamed Marco Silva’s tactics: ”Bizarre, bizarre game. Silva had a mare with that line up and tactics were awful. Deserved loss. Dreadful game to watch. Leeds deserved the points but played badly too. One to forget.”
”Fair pay to Leeds, battered us today.”
”Bringing on Josh King was pointless. I love the guy, truly, but against Leeds’ bruisers, he was going to get battered off the ball every time”
Result shows exactly why 49ers are pushing for reinforcements
Today’s game showed why the 49ers have been proactive in the market this week. After brining in Facundo Buonanotte, there are reports that the ownership want to add a striker, having made an enquiry for Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen. Adding two attacking players at this point of the season will be a huge boost to the quality in the team.
Buonanotte is a creative player, who can also find the back of the net. Strand Larsen is also a very good striker who would pair well with Dominic Calvert-Lewin – at Wolves, he even played in a similar system that Daniel Farke is currently using.
