Leeds United moved on from a few first team players during the summer transfer window. Daniel Farke was pretty ruthless when it came to who would play a part in the team this season.

The Leeds boss made it clear in pre-season about who would be in his plans for the upcoming campaign. Patrick Bamford was the first major casualty, with Farke saying he could not rely on the striker for this season.

Getting near to the transfer deadline, Bamford had his contract mutually terminated. And now he is looking for his next move as a free agent.

Patrick Bamford is still a target for Getafe but it seems the deal has slowed down. The head coach refused to directly confirm or deny the speculation of a deal. Mateo Moretto reported that negotiations between Bamford and the Spanish club have stalled. A decision however, could be made in the coming days.

Negotiations have slowed down in recent days because Getafe has taken its time to decide whether to close the deal or not, but in the coming days the final decision will be made.

The latest update from Diario AS is that Getafe still see Bamford as “an attractive prospect”. A deal is far from being completed as it stands.

“In the market, the reality is that there aren’t many options. The club is scouring the list of free agents, where Patrick Bamford’s name stands out.” the report said.

“The English striker, with experience in the Premier League, appears to be an attractive prospect due to his profile and standing, although a deal is far from being finalised.

“Beyond him, the shortage is evident, and the sporting directorate is exploring ways to make an emergency signing.”

Daniel Farke has a new striker to lean on

It looks like Dominic Calvert-Lewin is Leeds’ first choice striker now. The former Everton man scored his first goal for the club against Wolves last weekend. His time with the team has not been perfect, but the club will have to depend on him as the season goes on.

His last performance against Bournemouth was not the best but Daniel Farke defended him in the post match press conference.
