Gabby Agbonlahor delivers honest Leeds United relegation verdict – ‘I think it’s out of…’

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke, Gabby Agbonlahor in a circular insert.

Leeds United have suffered just one defeat in their last ten matches in all competitions.

This run of form has seen the Whites create a sizeable eight-point gap between themselves and the relegation zone as Daniel Farke’s men continue to upset some of the more established Premier League sides.

The lazy narrative over the summer was that the three teams that got promoted would instantly be relegated, but Leeds, as well as Sunderland, to their credit, look as though they are about to buck this trend.

United’s impressive run of form has even forced pundits like Gabby Agbonlahor to sit up and take notice at the good work that has been going on recently at Elland Road.

Leeds United safe from relegation, according to Gabby Agbonlahor

Agbonlahor is not the only one to be full of praise for the Whites as of late, with PSV manager Peter Bosz being very complimentary of Leeds’ recent seven-goal thriller against Newcastle.

Since that dramatic defeat, Leeds have knocked Derby out of the FA Cup and put another three points on the board in the Premier League, with United being on the right end of a last-minute winner against Fulham in their most recent outing.

This recent result has forced Agbonlahor to make a sensational admission regarding Leeds on talkSPORT.

The former Aston Villa player’s co-host Alan Brazil brought up Leeds’ win over Fulham when he said:

“Big, big result for Leeds, another late goal, big, big result for Leeds.”

To which Agbonlahor replied, “They’re (Leeds) doing well, they’ve found a way to get results, so I think it’s out of West Ham and Forest who goes down.”

The former Villa man is no stranger to taking a dig at the Whites when on air, making it all the more satisfying for Leeds supporters that even he is forced to praise Leeds.

Data supports Gabby Agbonlahor’s claim that Leeds will stay up

With 25 points from 22 games, and an eight-point gap to the bottom three, it would be a huge disappointment if Leeds were unable to capitalise on their good position and stay in the Premier League.

Luckily for Leeds, Opta’s supercomputer has given Farke’s men just a 6.23% chance of going down.

Opta Predicted 2025/26 Premier League Table (Relegation Battle)

Position Team Expected Points Chance of Relegation
16th Leeds United 43.23 6.23%
17th Nottingham Forest 41.01 12.88%
18th West Ham United 32.97 83.89%
19th Burnley 29.15 94.66%
20th Wolves 22.28 99.64%

With Facundo Buonanotte already signing for Leeds in January and strengthening their squad, there is no reason why the Whites can’t begin to look at chasing the teams above them in the Premier League table as opposed to constantly looking over their shoulders.
