Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has had his say on Dan James’ transfer to Leeds United.
Now a Sky Sports pundit, Neville, believes James has what it takes to be a big hit at Elland Road.
The Welsh winger signed for an initial £25 million on a five-year deal after being minutes away from signing back in 2019.
“It’s really good for Dan James,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“It’s one of those where this is a win-win.
“He came to United and always did his very best, he was a massive threat on the counter-attack, but United have a lot of players in those areas.
“It’s really important for young players to go and play, and Leeds have always wanted him.
“They wanted him the first time round when United got him instead.
“He’ll suit the way they play, the way they play with such pace on the counter-attack.
“He’ll love it there, the crowd’s a big crowd, a club that demands a lot.”
However, Neville has also stuck the knife in when discussing Leeds’ chances in the Premier League season.
Gary Neville has claimed that Leeds will ‘always concede five or six’ goals at Old Trafford, as he told Webby and O’Neill’s Youtube channel.
The TV pundit told the Manchester United fan channel to ‘forget about Leeds’, as they were discussing Manchester United’s chances of winning the title.
“Forget Leeds,” said Neville. “Honestly, forget Leeds. This Manchester United team are perfect for Leeds. I did the game last year where Leeds played well.
“But they got beat, 6-2 was it? Leeds will always concede five or six out here with the way they play. I mean we will rip them to shreds.”
