Gary Neville says Leeds should forget about re-hiring Marcelo Bielsa

Gary Neville discussed the possible return of Marcelo Bielsa to Elland Road, concluding that it would be a bad idea for the club.

Speakin on The Overlap show, Neville pointed out that Bielsa’s tenure at the club ended poorly and that Leeds should look elsewhere to replace Jesse Marsch. The former Valencia coach said the end of Bielsa’s reign was a ‘disaster’:

“You can’t, you can’t go back to Bielsa,” Neville said.

“I thought Leeds were carnage at the end under Bielsa. I thought they were shocking.”#

“It was the man-to-man marking, that’s what looked awful.”

The Whites are yet to announce a replacement for Jesse Marsch, with Michael Skubala stepping in as interim coach. Skubala got off to a decent start as he managed a 2-2 draw with Man United on Wednesday night.

Leeds welcome the Red Devils to Elland Road on Sunday.
