A month on from the news of Gjanni Alioski’s departure from Leeds United, and he’s finally made his debut for his new club.
It was a happy day on a personal note for Alioski, as he scored in the 2-2 draw against Al-Hazm. Alioski’s goal came from the penalty spot, and whilst that’s not a sentence Leeds United fans will be too familiar with, he did take a penalty for North Macedonia in the Euros. However, Alioski missed that one before calmly converting the rebound.
He managed to score this one at the first time of asking though, and in turn sparked a comeback in the final 12 minutes as Al-Ahli fought back from 2-0 down to salvage a point, despite being 2 goals down with 12 minutes to go. Former Barcelona midfielder Paulinho grabbed the equaliser 5 minutes later as the Saudi side earned their second consecutive draw.
2 games into the new season and Alisoki’s side are 10th in the Saudi Pro League.
