Leeds United youngster Harry Gray has been a big topic of discussion this year. Just like when his brother Archie Gray had an outstanding breakout season, fans see Harry as the next big thing.
And he has already been proving them right – this season he has been on fire with the U21 side. Gray even earned up a call up to the squad for the game against Wolves last week. He did not play, but he did make history as one of the youngest Leeds players to be selected to a matchday squad.
Daniel Farke has already preached patience with the youngster as the season progresses, and everyone wishing he was in the first team.

Patrick Bamford’s relationship with Harry Gray

Graham Smyth has been writing about Harry Gray’s experiences in training at Leeds United so far. He pointed out the relationship between Patrick Bamford and the youngster over the past few years. Bamford himself had a lot of things to say about Harry Gray on Ben Foster’s Fozcast:
“When Archie came up he was obviously quiet but just got about it. Harry is chirpy.
“He is proper chirpy, but in a good way. He has got no problem with like having one of the first team players off.
“At 16, I swear I think in his head he knows he’s good and as a striker.
“I remember when Archie was at Leeds, I went to watch the 18s or 21s and Harry was playing.
“He knows now because I told him but I literally went to watch just to see him and he was good and I thought he is going to be decent, when he comes up I will try and help him a little bit.
“To be fair, it’s weird to say, but I think he looks up to me a little bit so I can kind of get away with him a little bit.”
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has taken over the role now
Daniel Farke has spoken this week about how Calvert-Lewin has been teaching Harry Gray some new things in training. The youngster now has another mentor after Patrick Bamford left the club in the summer. The former Everton man is said to be taking a lot of responsibility in the team, and taking Gray under his wing could be very beneficial to everyone involved.
