Leeds United were unsuccessful in their appeal of Pascal Struijk’s red card against Liverpool. The young defender was sent off for a challenge on teenager Harvey Elliott, despite the referee initially waving play on.
Leeds submitted their appeal yesterday afternoon but have since been told that their appeal was unsuccessful by the FA. Since then however, Harvey Elliott himself has jumped to the defence of Pascal Struijk, describing the decision as ‘wrong’.
Elliott commented on Instagram ‘Sorry about that Pascal 🙁 I think it’s wrong! But it’ll soon blow over brother and you’ll be back in no time smashing it again’ It has to be said that Elliott has been incredibly professional about the whole situation, jumping to the defence of Struijk on numerous occasions.
