Premier League legend Wayne Rooney has not hidden his admiration for Leeds United’s performance against Tottenham Hotspur despite their 2-1 defeat at Elland Road on Saturday.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke was left gutted at the final whistle against Spurs. His team dominated the away side and created enough chances to pick up all three points.
However, Spurs were more clinical at the other end while Leeds missed several opportunities, which resulted in a first home league defeat in more than a year.
Rooney has insisted that Farke should be pleased with the team’s performance despite the defeat, and his Leeds side were unlucky not to get anything from the game.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a handful – Wayne Rooney

Dominic Calvert-Lewin came under criticism for missing his chances against Spurs, and even he admitted that he should have done better on Saturday.
He has been blamed for Leeds’ defeat, but Wayne Rooney praised the striker’s performance and stressed that it shows how good a player he really is at the level.
The former Manchester United striker is pleased with the way the 28-year-old has started at Leeds and feels if he remains fit, the forward remains a handful for Premier League defenders.
“We all know Calvert-Lewin is a very good player. The biggest issue is to keep him fit”, the former striker said on BBC Match of the Day.
“He has started well at Leeds, and if he stays fit, he is a handful for any defender.”
Can you name these 10 former Leeds United defenders?

At the moment DCL is another Bamford. Just fails to impress. He should have buried some of his chances. The clubs fault for not getting in a decent striker. DCL won’t keep Leeds up. We need someone with a killer instinct
