Yesterday, Leeds United enjoyed a fruitful night in front of goal as the defeated Crewe Alexander 3-0 in the Carabao Cup. It was an enjoyable 90 minutes for the sell out crowd at Elland Road and provided one or two key players with vital minutes as they look to regain match sharpness. Well, that was my take but what was yours? How did social media see it?
In their opening two league games, Leeds have conceded a total of seven goals. That has to change if the Whites want to achieve the ambitions they’ve set for themselves this season and the key to fixing such a problem may be Diego Llorente. Leeds fans were very pleased to have him back in the side.
Diego Llorente is majestic makes defending look effortless. Had a great first half, hopefully he’ll be back Sunday🤞 #lufc

Alongside him in the starting eleven, Adam Forshaw made his first competitive appearance since 2019. Leeds fans were not only pleased to see him back in the side but were also impressed by his performance.
I thought Adam Forshaw showed how classy he is last night, albeit against a League one side. Looked sharp, ultimate pro, pleased for him.
Could easily be like a new £15 – £20 million player.#lufc

Unsurprisingly, it was star man Kalvin Phillips who opened the scoring last night ending Crewe’s resurgent resistance in the second half. He was subsequently showered in praise.

Not to be outdone by the defensive midfielder, Jack Harrison then found the back of the net twice to wrap up a 3-0 win leaving fans hopeful that he might kick on in the league now.
Now can Jack Harrison bag in the #PremierLeague ffs

Nonetheless, he quite rightly received praise himself with some tipping him for an England call-up.
I think this really could be Jack Harrison’s breakthrough season – he surely must be on Southgate’s radar if he continues to add consistency to his game.
£11 million looks more & more of a bargain for #lufc every week.— Mark Roper (@markroper23) August 25, 2021
