Head Coach may have leaked Liverpool star’s latest transfer move – Leeds United heavily linked

Daniel Farke and the recruitment team have a job on their hands this summer. Leeds United now have to build a team good enough to compete in the Premier League next season.

From the recent reports, it looks like the Whites are targeting players with Premier League experience. Ipswich Town and Southampton had the same approach, but both sides were relegated. The gap in quality between promoted teams and the rest of the division grows bigger every campaign. This season marked the second year all three promoted sides went straight back down.

One big area the club needs to address is the goalkeeping situation. Daniel Farke made the bold decision to bench Illan Meslier in the run in after a series of errors. Karl Darlow stepped in as Leeds sealed promotion and won the Championship.

Many outlets have accepted that Meslier will leave Elland Road at some point this summer, meaning the Whites will not have a first choice keeper heading into next season. Reports have linked the club with multiple targets, including Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale and Burnley’s James Trafford.

Liverpool stopper Caomhin Kelleher has also been linked with a move to West Yorkshire. His national team Head Coah Heimir Hallgrimsson recently let it slip to the Irish Echo that the Reds’ keeper is set for a move this summer:

“I just want Caoimhin to go to a club where he will play. He has been playing at the highest level,”

“Champions League, Premier League, done really well. I just want him to be happy and play regularly. I don’t mind where he goes so long as he is playing on a regular basis, he is too good not to be playing.’’

Kelleher is Premier League standard

The Liverpool star has shown that he is a capable starter. In the absence of Alisson in recent seasons, Kelleher has proved that he is good enough to lead another team in the league. With his contract up next year, Liverpool could be forced to sell him. This is the perfect opportunity for Leeds to secure their first choice stopper.

At 26 years old, the Ireland international could be the club’s solution to the position for the long-term future.
