Liam Cooper didn’t have the best time against Everton, as his tug on Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s shirt led to the penalty that gave Everton a 1-0 lead.
Garth Crooks has now chipped in to criticise Cooper following the error and was also in complete shock as to how Cooper had the audacity to argue with the referee. “How Liam Cooper had the nerve to question his subsequent booking, never mind the penalty he gave away for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s shirt practically off his back, beggars belief.”
Cooper tugged Calvert-Lewin to the ground, which resulted in referee Darren England looking at the monitor before concluding that Cooper had committed a foul. Cooper protested heavily with the referee, but replays showed that a penalty was probably the correct decision.
