Leeds United fans will be furious that they were not able to leave Elland Road with three points against Bournemouth. This Saturday saw the Whites play some of their best football this season.
Daniel Farke’s men went a goal down within the first half hour, similar to the Wolves game – Antoine Semenyo scored a low free kick. Joe Rodon then headed home the equalizer before half time. In the second half, Sean Longstaff scored to put Leeds in a 2-1 lead. It was from that point on that Leeds should have killed off the game; they had many opportunities to, with big chances falling to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Afte the match, Farke criticized his team’s inability to finish chances once again:
“Valuable and a good point. If you concede that late, deserving to win, it doesn’t feel great, but from Monday on, we move on to make sure we deliver that performance again.
”Another 19 shots. One team missing big chances: us.”

The Leeds boss then once again went on a long rant about the expectations of the team given the quality of the players. Farke pointed out that this squad cannot outperform or play better than a lot of other teams in the league, but with organization and physicality they stand a chance.
“We can’t outperform our opponents when you see their quality.
“Organisation, physicality, big team spirit is what we need.
“The team reduced Bournemouth to so little chances but they’re a proven Premier League side and they were effective today.”
Andoni Iraola full of praise for Leeds
Bournemouth nicked a point at the end of the game, and Andoni Iraola gave full praise to Leeds United for how they played on Saturday:
“Game was very physical. Calvert-Lewin winning a lot of first contacts. Physical midfield, winning second balls.
“Normally, we are good in that type of game, but Leeds have been very good in the duels and fighting for the ball. Difficult for us.
“We were hurting from the left side, when they equalised, from there until 2-1, we did not play at all.
“You could see it coming, their goal more than ours. Pushed them back, had chances, but not clear because they have a lot defending.”
