After a long gruelling season, Leeds United have won the Championship. In one of the most exciting title races in recent seasons, the Whites and Burnley were neck and neck for months.
Many Leeds fans lost hope for being promoted in March, when the club went on a three-game winless streak. The errors of Illan Meslier were especially magnified during that period. Daniel Farke made the bold decision to put Karl Darlow in goal, and the rest has been history.
Going into the final day, there were many injury doubts. Farke revealed that Dan James and Firpo could miss the game.

Sam Byram was a surprise selection on Saturday, after it was confirmed that Junior Firpo was out. And the defender got off to the worst possible start as he put the ball in the back of his own net after 18 minutes. Plymouth held onto the lead into half time. Wilfried Gnonto popped up with the equalizer just eight minutes into the second half.
And a moment of magic from Manor Solomon sealed the league title for the Whites.
After the celebrations that will take place on Saturday, the focus will be on the Premier League next season. But how much do teams actually earn from winning the Championship?
According to the BBC, every club in the Championship receives a set amount from the EFL. Unlike the Premier League, where clubs are awarded prize money according to where they finish, the Championship do not pay out prize money. Depending on some factors, clubs in the league received around £11million.
Luckily, Leeds have financial support
Unlike other teams, Leeds United received an extra £40million as ‘parachute payments’ for being relegated from the Premier League within the last three seasons. Winning promotion from the Championship also guarantees a fee in excess of £110million for reaching the English top flight.
