This week is set to be a busy one for Leeds United. The club kicked off their business over the weekend, and it looks like there will be some arrivals during the week.
Lukas Nmecha was announced as the Whites’ first signing of the summer. The German forward will join the West Yorkshire side on a two-year deal when his contract with Wolfsburg expires. Leeds are also working to close a deal for Udinese defender Jaka Bijol. A deal for the Slovenian has been all but sealed.
The club could also see some departures this week. Three players were put up for sale at the start of the transfer window, and now, two could leave in the next few days. Joe Gelhardt is attracting interest from Wrexham, while Sam Greenwood has been linked with a move to Leicester City and Sunderland.

Another departure that the club is preparing for is Junior Firpo. The 28-year old has been the main talking point this summer. Leeds announced that they would hold talks with the defender. The club even offered him a new deal, but now, all signs are pointing to a return to Spain.
Mucho Deporte state that Betis are finalizing the paperwork for the deal, which could be completed in the next week. Firpo will put pen to paper on a three year deal, and will reportedly earn £12million over the length of the contract according to El Día. The deal will be officially completed when the left back’s deal ends at Elland Road.

Leeds fans already had the feeling that Firpo was leaving since last year. The 28-year old’s failure to properly address his future over the past year was a worry. And then when he finally decided to speak on his next career step, he highlighted a return to Spain. Now, Leeds can move on and find a replacement.
