Former Leeds United star Paul Robinson has conceded that the Whites are going to miss Daniel James’ presence in the squad because of the versatility he adds to the team.
James started the first three Championship games and even scored in Leeds United’s 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday away from home.
However, the winger has missed the last two games due to an injury and will be out until after the October international break after suffering a set-back in his rehabilitation.
The Welshman has been a key part of the Leeds squad and with Crysencio Summerville leaving in the last season, his importance to the team has gone up due to the lack of options in the wide areas.
Leeds signed Manor Solomon and Largie Ramazani in the summer window but James’ presence is still important due to the experience he adds to the squad.
Robinson conceded that Leeds are going to miss the winger as he recovers from an injury as he adds a certain energy to the team.
The former Leeds United star stressed the importance of James in the squad
He insisted that the Welshman’s injury is a massive blow to the squad as his pace and versatility adds something different to the Leeds squad.
The former goalkeeper stressed that James is a massive asset in Daniel Farke’s squad as he can affect games both as a starter and as an attacking option from the bench.
Robinson is certain that Leeds are going to miss the winger as he recovers from an injury on the sidelines until next month.
“No Daniel James is a huge blow”, the former White said on MOT Leeds News.
“Having lost Summerville and Rutter, Manor Solomon coming has helped, but James has the ability to play anywhere across the front.
“His pace, the way he approaches the game, and his directness gives Leeds something else. He’s a key player, whether he starts or comes off the bench, and he’s always going to be part of the matchday squad.
“He’ll be a huge miss.”
Leeds United are also sweating on the fitness of Max Wober and Daniel Farke will make a late call on his availability for their game against Cardiff City on Saturday.
