Leeds United could clinch another season in the Premier League if results go their way this weekend. The Whites will play Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

Spurs and West Ham are battling it out to avoid the final spot in the bottom three of the league. The Hammers play a day before Roberto De Zerbi’s side kick off against the Whites. If West Ham slip up, it changes the picture at the bottom of the table. That result will be a huge boost to Spurs and could also very well confirm Leeds’ status in the top flight for next season.

Eddie Riemer gives honest verdict ahead of Leeds United game

Eddie Riemer stood in for Daniel Farke in Leeds United’s pre-match press conference for the Tottenham game. The assistant coach said Monday night’s game will be a difficult test as Spurs are a different team now under their new coach.

”It will be a huge test. They’re now out of the relegation zone. We want to finish the season on a high and seal survival mathematically. I don’t think [it’s strange dynamic]. We will take it as it comes but be ready for whatever happens. We will prepare the next three sessions to be ready for a heated match. Not for me to judge De Zerbi but he has had an impact on the players. They are [aggressive]. You see his patterns from week to week. They are becoming a different Tottenham team. Survival? It’s massive. It seems like for us every season has to be a special season. Thought we needed a point per game but we need more. A special season.”

Whites will be without key players on Monday night

Unfortunately for Leeds United, it is very likely that they will be without two key first team players. Riemer revealed that Gabriel Gudmundsson will not be ready in time to face the London club, and that Noah Okafor is out of the game. The winger picked up a calf problem and is expected to be out for the next two games. Pascal Struijk is also a doubt for Monday night after missing training. Things will not be easy for Leeds to be able to go and get something on the road against this Spurs side, but they have beaten the odds before. Monday night is set to be a very interesting game with a lot at stake.
