Leeds United entered the international break on an unfortunate note after the result of the Tottenham game. Daniel Farke’s side left Elland Road with a defeat in a game they could have easily won.
It was the first time this season that Leeds had suffered a defeat at home. But it is not all doom and gloom for the Whites, they are above the relegation zone so far and have performed well above everyone’s expectations.
They could have done better with some games, but there are still a lot of matches left to go this season. Hopefully Daniel Farke can guide his side to safety, after leading the charge to promotion.

Beren Cross confident of Leeds United survival

Before the season, not a lot of people gave Leeds any hope of survival. In fact, many thought the newly promoted sides this year would all be bottom of the league after the first two games. But Burnley, Sunderland and Leeds have done well so far and have already accumulated more points than last season’s promoted sides.
The Athletic’s Beren Cross says he is confident that the Whites can survive in the Premier League this season:
“Still, the best stat I’ve read after the Everton win was how long those teams (Ipswich, Leicester, Southampton) took to win their first games, I think it was October. So, miles clear of them,” he said on The Square Ball podcast.
“I don’t feel worried at all at the moment. By all means, throw that back at me in March time, but at the moment, it just feels really, really solid.”
Daniel Farke thinks his side will get ‘lucky’ soon
The narrow defeat to Spurs has followed a trend in Leeds United games recently. Farke’s side do not seem to have that cutting edge to kill off games when they have the chance to. Against Fulham, they could have scored after dominating the first hour, but lost the game due to an own goal. In the Bournemouth game, they drew after conceding a late equalizer.
And over the weekend, they had glorious chances to go 2-1 up but missed while Spurs took their half chance to win the match. Daniel Farke insists luck will go his side’s way and they will win games soon.
