Leeds United fans gave the 49ers a lot of stick after the summer transfer window. The main complaint was that the club did not sign enough quality in attack that would see them through the season.
Leeds managed to bring in three players in attack – Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor. The signings were criticized at the beginning but as the season went on, they proved their worth. Alongside the other signings in other areas of the team – the ownership would considered the summer a decent success outside one or two bad moves.
Leeds United star happy with life at Elland Road
This season has been Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s first in the Premier League not playing in an Everton shirt. When he left the toffees in the summer, a lot of clubs were not willing to take the risk. But Leeds United managed to get him to boost their chances of survival, and his season can be deemed a very successful one at this point. The 28-year old has spoken about life at Elland Road, and how much he has appreciated playing for the club this season.
“I’ve rediscovered what it’s like to truly enjoy a football match this season. And now that I’ve got that feeling, I don’t want it to end. I want to keep playing and enjoying my football for as long as possible. And I know that when I enjoy playing, and I enjoy the hard work, that good things come from that.
“Long may it continue.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been the signing of the season
There are a handful of signings that fans will agree on as being the best players at the club. And Dominic Calvert-Lewin definitely fits that bill; his goals have been very important this season, and he has scored some very crucial ones. He had a slow start to the campaign, but once he kicked in gear he was unstoppable.
| # | Player | Goals |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dominic Calvert-Lewin | 10 |
| 2 | Lukas Nmecha | 7 |
| 3 | Brenden Aaronson | 4 |
| = | Anton Stach | 4 |

Calvert-Lewin has struggled to find the back of the net in recent weeks, but Leeds have also failed to rise to the occasion. Daniel Farke needs to fix the setup quickly in order for the club to be able to get results in the last few games of the season.
