‘I got a bit of stick from one of the coaching staff’ – £43k a week Leeds United star makes shocking revelation after Everton clash

Leeds United

Leeds United have really come far at this point of the season, at the start of the campaign no one really gave the club a chance. Daniel Farke was even tipped to be sacked before a ball was kicked in the Premier League.

The ownership did the most to help the club in their campaign, spending over £100 million in the summer window. That period came with a lot of controversial squad decisions made by Farke. Patrick Bamford ended up leaving the club, while Jack Harrison was reintegrated.

10 new players arrive at Elland Road, with the plan to build a team good enough to compete in the Premier League. It has taken a while, but the club’s fanbase can now honestly assess most of the signings. Some players hit the ground running, like Gabriel Gudmundsson, Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff while it took others till December to even get a chance in the first team.

James Justin was one player who had to wait for his opportunity. The former Leicester City man was limited to cameos for most of the season before he found his way into the first team after injuries to Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson. Justin has impressed fans ever since he got his run in the first team, and was the unlikely goal scorer in Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Everton on Monday night.

The defender, who was filling in for Gudmundsson on the night, found himself at the far post and applied a lovely finish to Anton Stach’s cross from the other end of the pitch. Justin had an interesting revelation about the goal on Monday night:

“I got a bit of stick from one of the coaching staff because he says I arrive in the box too quick so I thought I’d wait a little bit longer this time, and luckily it came off, so I’ve got him to thank for that but yeah, glad to get on the scoresheet, but gutted we didn’t win. ”

James Justin is a player Daniel Farke should trust

In the past couple of months, Daniel Farke has been forced to rely on his depth this season. After using a small percentage of the first team at the start of the season, injuries and suspensions set in. This meant that the Leeds boss had to call on players like Ilia Gruev, Sebastiaan Bornauw and James Justin in recent games.

All these guys have stepped up and shown that there is quality on the bench for the rest of the season. Now, Farke has to learn how to use them effectively in the second half of the season.
