After the last international break, Leeds United had a decent run of games. Daniel Farke decided to make some changed to the starting lineup to get results.
The narrow loss to Fulham was followed by a decent run of results before this international break. Leeds beat Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home and drew with Bournemouth. Daniel Farke’s side could have taken all three points against the Cherries, but a late goal in injury time decided the game.
Leeds then suffered another narrow loss to Spurs at Elland Road over the weekend. They got many chances to put the game to bed, but their finishing eventually cost them as Thomas Frank’s side got a late goal and won the game.

One of the changes Farke made in that Fulham game was bringing Brenden Aaronson into the attack. The midfielder spent last season playing in the number 10 role, but is now playing out wide in these past couple of games. Aaronson was speaking to the Philadelphia Enquirer about his new role in the team.
“I didn’t know, with this season in the Premier League, if I (was) going to be playing, or what role I’d have, stuff like that,”
“It’s always a dream come true playing in the Premier League, and being able to play week in, week out right now is a dream.
“(Farke) just wants to see me do my game, like how I played last year. Be creative, be creating from the right wing position — if it’s creating chances on the dribble, finding people with through balls, playing close to Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the striker, I’ve been given time to kind of understand the position a little bit more, and grow used to it.”
Daniel Farke seems to have found the right balance
With the new front three of Noah Okafor, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Brenden Aaronson, Leeds have found a bit of balance. Okafor provides the wide threat that can run in behind and Calvert-Lewin is a very potent focal point. Aaronson has provided work rate and link up play which has helped the team in the last few games.
Even though the American is yet to score, he is contributing in different ways.
