Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a few golden opportunities to score, but he fluffed his lines. It contributed to the home side losing a game against Tottenham at Elland Road that they probably should have won, given the quality of their performance.
The Tottenham players were jubilant at the end as they held on to their 2-1 lead and escaped Elland Road with three points, which many feel they didn’t deserve.
Spurs were dominated by Daniel Farke’s men at Elland Road, no matter how much Thomas Frank wants to rewrite history by insisting that his team controlled the game at Elland Road today.
Leeds were the more dominant team, and the relief on the faces of the Tottenham players was real when the referee blew the final whistle as they were barely holding on to the win as the clock was ticking down.
However, the Whites have themselves to blame for the defeat as they missed several chances, with Calvert-Lewin being the main culprit during the game.

Calvert-Lewin admitted that his side didn’t deserve to lose against Tottenham, and indicated that he is to blame for missing those chances inside the Tottenham box.
He is well aware of the run at Elland Road and conceded that it was a disappointing way to lose their first home league game in more than a year.
However, the Leeds striker insisted that the home form will be huge for the team this season and admitted that the passionate fans have helped him to settle at Elland Road early.
“We should have taken advantage today, and I think we deserved something out of the game. We got into dangerous positions and we did not take those opportunities”, Calvert told TNT Sports.
“I should have taken some chances today, but it wasn’t my day either. Not today for me, but you think about the next one. This is the life of a striker.
“It’s disappointing to lose a home game. We are aware of the run we are on at home, but this is the Premier League, and you have got to take your chances.
“Despite losing today, we still think Elland Road is a fortress and can help us. The fans here are so passionate, and the atmosphere is superb.
“I am loving it here, and I have settled in really well. The manager made me feel really comfortable as soon as I arrived, and I want to do the club and fans proud as the season progresses.”

The Leeds manager is acutely aware of his side’s profligacy in front of the goal and insisted that his forwards should have taken their chances.
However, he stressed that it’s hugely encouragin this side dominated one of the best sides in the Premier League and it shows the development of the team.
He told reporters: “We have to take our chances and hope the goalkeeper is not the man of the match. Should have hit the target with a few of our chances.
“Played one of the country’s top sides and were the better side. Encouraging. Proud of how far we have come.”
