Leeds United boss Daniel Farke made a series of changes from the start of the season. It looked like the German was making changes on a per game basis when it came to the team structure and lineup.
Against Fulham, Farke decided to play a new front three in Noah Okafor, Brenden Aaronson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Though Leeds failed to score in London, they then scored six goals in the last three games before the international break.
The Whites created multiple opportunities in the games against Bournemouth and Spurs, but failed to convert. And it seems like in all this, Brenden Aaronson has been one of the keys to success.

Aaronson had a tidy cameo as the USA beat New Zealand in a friendly match on Wednesday morning. Before the game, he spoke about his new role in the Leeds United team and how he is aiming for better numbers in this campaign:
“I’ve played the last four games which is big for me, getting good minutes and I’m really happy with the performances I’ve put in, maybe I haven’t got the stats I think I should be getting, but that’s football.” he said speaking to USMNT media.
“Working on my goals and assists, being dangerous when I get on the ball, and bring that to the National Team and being myself, because that’s what gets me here with the National Team. Just being myself.”
Midfielder’s new role brings balance to Leeds side
Daniel Farke gave insight into Aaronson’s new role after the Fulham game – defensively, he provides cover down the flank for Jayden Bogle. But since that game, we have seen an attacking dimension to the new role. Aaronson tucks into central areas providing Bogle the freedom of the width on the right, which has seen more crosses and overlaps from the player.
The Leeds side has a bit more balance since the American came into the lineup and credit to Daniel Farke for finding the solution. But like Aaronson himself said; he will need more goals and assists this season to help the team.
