Leeds United’s new boy Largi Ramazani has admitted that he feels glad Daniel James still remembers him from their time together at Manchester United.
Ramazani joined Leeds from Spanish outfit Almeria in the summer and made his debut in their 2-0 win over Hull City at Elland Road ahead of the international break.
The winger is being hailed as a top signing and some believe he could be too hot to handle for defenders in the Championship this season.
The Belgian also reunited with his former Manchester United teammate James when he joined Leeds in the summer transfer window but conceded that he didn’t expect the Welshman to remember him.
The Leeds new boy claims Daniel James always looking out for young players and is keen to help them
James was a regular first-team player at Manchester United when Ramazani was at their academy and the two briefly trained together at Old Trafford.
The Belgian claimed that James was one of the first-team players who was always ready to help the young players when they joined training with the senior squad.
Ramazani was taken aback by the way the Welshman was always looking out for the young players and didn’t expect James to remember him from those brief training sessions at Manchester United.
“I did train with him a few times”, the winger said on BBC Radio Leeds.
“Dan James is a great guy; he is always the guy looking out when the younger players come up.
“He always makes sure you get the drill, if not, ‘just tell me, I’ll let you know’. He was always one of the firsts.
“I didn’t think he would remember me but he did and I was glad.”
Ramazani and James will be fighting for a spot in the Leeds United team this season given the competition for places in the wide areas.
