Last week, we reported that Ian Poveda was set to leave Leeds United following an alleged falling out with manager Marcelo Bielsa, and now his next club could have been revealed.
Poveda has clearly fallen down the pecking order in the last few months at Leeds as his next club has seemingly been revealed. Phil Hay of the Athletic reported that Blackburn are the most likely to bring Poveda in on a loan deal. It was unclear as to whether Poveda would leave on a loan deal or a permanent deal, but it appears Blackburn will try and acquire him on loan.
Poveda is approaching the age where he needs first team football at 21, and with Harrison, Raphinha, Costa and now potentially Summerville ahead of him, it was unlikely he was going to get the game time he needs this season at Leeds.
There’s still a lot of potential in Poveda, and hopefully playing some Championship football can unleash that potential.
