Illan Meslier has returned to Leeds United’s matchday squads following Lucas Perri’s injury. However, the French goalkeeper is unlikely to feature for the Whites again, with his departure all but certain either in the upcoming winter window or next summer.
Leeds were more than willing to sell the Frenchman in the summer after it became clear that he was not part of the club’s plans after losing his place in the team last season.
Perri’s arrival further pushed him down the pecking order, and at best, he is now the third-choice goalkeeper in the Leeds squad. However, the club didn’t attract the kind of offers they hoped for Meslier in the summer.
Daniel Farke has praised the goalkeeper’s mental fortitude this season, but the Frenchman is still expected, with a move in the winter window a real possibility.
Super agent Pini Zahavi could facilitate Inter Milan signing Illan Meslier

Inter Milan have identified Melsier as a potential target as they seek to bring in a new goalkeeper in the winter transfer window or next season.
According to InterLive.it, the Serie A giants have an ace up their sleeve if they make a move for Meslier in the upcoming transfer windows.
It has been claimed that Pini Zahavi, who is also Meslier’s agent, could play a big role in taking the Frenchman to the San Siro in the near future.
The Nerazzurri have a good relationship with the super agent and signed one of his clients, Andy Diouf from RC Lens, in the summer.
Inter are hoping to leverage that relationship to get ahead of the chasing pack in the pursuit of the Leeds goalkeeper in the coming months.
However, the final decision on signing Meslier rests with Inter head coach Cristian Chivu, who is believed to be in favour of Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi.
Carnesecchi’s contract runs until 2028, whereas Inter could secure Meslier from Leeds for a reasonable fee in January or potentially for free next summer.
