In-form Leeds United star major doubt for Sheffield United showdown – It’s a huge blow for Daniel Farke

Leeds United are gearing up for one of the biggest games of the season when they take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Monday night. A win or a draw will keep the Whites at the top of the table while a defeat would push them back to second in the table. Daniel Farke and his players are focused on getting a positive result in Sheffield amidst Chris Wilder’s attempts to pile on the pressure on the away side. However, Leeds have a major injury worry ahead of the game as one of their most important players could miss the trip to Sheffield.

Farke is trying to temper excitement at Leeds United as the fans feel enthused about returning to the Premier League at the end of the season.

The Leeds boss has been insisting that the job is far from done but admitted that 20 more points from their remaining 13 league games should guarantee them automatic promotion to the top flight.

The Whites are looking to get three of those 20 points at Bramall Lane and while many feel that a point would be a good result for Leeds, Farke’s men are not known for taking a backward step in any game.

However, a major player from their forward line could miss the trip to Sheffield and for the moment, he is a major doubt to get involved in the game against the Blades.

Leeds United could be without Manor Solomon’s services

Solomon has been one of the best players for Leeds since he broke into the starting eleven in December and has been a major threat in the front line.

He has four goals and four assists in his last eight league appearances and has been a major reason behind Leeds shifting gears in the last few weeks.

However, Leeds are sweating over his fitness after he picked up a knock in their 2-1 win over Sunderland at Elland Road last Monday night.

Farke admitted that the winger has yet to recover from being at the end of a bad tackle against Sunderland and is yet to join training with the rest of the squad.

He stressed that if Solomon doesn’t return in the next two days, the winger won’t travel to Bramall Lane with the rest of the squad on Monday.

“Question mark over Manor Solomon, nasty tackle in last game, wasn’t able to join us in team training last few days”, Farke said in a press conference.

“[He is] progressing well, perhaps he can return to training tomorrow or Sunday. If not able to train, he won’t travel with us. He’s the only question mark.”

He would be a major miss for Leeds at Bramall Lane

Solomon has been one of the most potent attacking threats in the Championship over the last couple of months and has been a key reason behind Leeds’ form.

The winger’s performances are a world away from Wilfried Gnonto’s, the player he replaced in the starting eleven in December.

Leeds should be worried about not having in the team against Sheffield United as the game at Bramall Lane is likely to be a very tight affair given the importance of the fixture for both sides.

The Whites would need his attacking instincts and the ability to break open teams who are sitting deep and are prepared to frustrate the Leeds forwards.

Gnonto or Largie Ramazani could replace Solomon if he is not declared fit but neither has shown the kind of attacking ability this season that the Israeli has displayed.

Wilder and the Sheffield United defenders would be more than happy if the winger is not named in the squad ahead of the game on Monday night.
