Leeds United managing director Robbie Evans sat down with local media to discuss this past transfer window. He covered many topics, with some answers not particularly pleasing to fans.
The ending of the summer window was the most controversial topic. Evans said the club’s failure to sign Harry Wilson on deadline day was Fulham’s choice at the end. He also added that he is confident in the business Leeds did in the window. The Whites signed 10 new players.
The most important thing Leeds added was quality and depth; now Daniel Farke can rely on options off the bench to change the game. But the attack still needed one or two pieces.

One thing Evans mentioned was that Leeds had maxed out their PSR for the summer. This prevented them from going after some big money signings in the middle of the window.
When discussing players that could have been sold to boost the club’s PSR rooms, some interesting names popped up:
“Ultimately, Companies House will shed all the light on that that we need to see. You know, Companies House is going to show us what they spent and the profit and loss column.
“And we can work it out what their PSR position was. You know, by and large, they spent 100 million. I went into the summer thinking they might spend a bit more, but I thought they would sell.
“I thought we’d see the departure of a Gruev or maybe even [Joel] Piroe. I certainly thought [Illan] Meslier would go.”
In discussing some of these names, Leeds could very well look to sell these players if the PSR issue worsens in January, or if the club needs funds for the winter market.
Leeds will need to sign in January
Robbie Evans hinted that it could be another quiet January for the club, but after missing out on major targets, they will certainly need a few signings in the winter. Especially if results do not go their way till the end of the year. It will be disappointing if Leeds enter January without signing a player.
