Leeds United are in the market for a striker, but their pursuit of a number 9 of required quality is yet to yield results, with little over three weeks left in the transfer window. Daniel Farke has indicated that without a new striker, the Whites could struggle in the Premier League next season.
The Whites have been scouring the market for strikers since the start of the window. Lukas Nmecha was signed up on a free transfer early in the summer, but he is not seen as someone who could shoulder the burden of scoring the goals needed to keep Leeds in the top flight next season.
Farke is insistent that without the attacking additions, his squad cannot be termed Premier League-ready, and lamented the fact that his attacking options are weaker at the moment, compared to last season in the Championship.
Leeds have been looking at several strikers, and while signing someone with Premier League experience is their preferred option, the Whites have cast their net far and wide to consider several potential recruits.

Insider reveals Leeds United are not prepared to give up on Rodrigo Muniz

Rodrigo Muniz has been the one name that has been furiously linked with a move to Leeds, and he is indeed their number one striker target.
Leeds have been looking at other strikers, but they have never walked away from their pursuit of the striker despite Fulham insisting that he is not for sale.
Fulham recently rebuffed an approach from Atalanta despite the Italian club’s CEO personally travelling to London to hold talks with the Cottagers.
However, it seems Fulham’s transfer stance has not deterred Leeds as club insider Graham Smyth is insistent that the Whites still believe they can do a deal to sign the Brazilian.
Leeds are running out of time, but they still hold a strong interest in Muniz and believe they can sign him before the end of the transfer window on September 1st.
“Yes, it’s gone very quiet since [Igor] Paixao, and it’s gone deathly quiet in fact. I think that’s for two reasons”, Smyth said on the Inside Elland Road podcast.
“One, they’re exercising patience. I still think they believe there will be a deal to be done for Rodrigo Muniz at Fulham.”
Leeds fans are growing impatient
The Whites have received some encouragement from Muniz’s camp, which has ensured the club remain in the hunt for him this summer.
However, with just over a week left for Leeds’ first game of the Premier League season, the squad look woefully short of numbers in the final third.
For now, Lukas Nmecha and Joel Piroe are the striker options ahead of the start of the season. The former had injury-riddled last two seasons, and the latter has not been tested in the Premier League.
The Whites fans are growing impatient, and with no news on the striker front at the moment, the supporters are worried.
Leeds still have more than three weeks to secure adequate signings, but a poor start to the season could affect confidence inside the camp.
