It’s advantage Leeds United in crunch clash as Championship rivals lose key player for the season – Leeds need this kind of luck

Leeds United are fighting an atmosphere of doom and gloom this week after they only managed a 2-2 draw at home against Swansea City. They are still second in the table, but the club are fast losing grip of an automatic promotion race that they had firm control of even a month back. However, ahead of a big game in April, one of Leeds’ rivals will be without one of their best players, which is good news for the Whites.

Daniel Farke and his Leeds United players will look to knuckle down this week and prepare hard for their trip to Luton Town, which is now a big game for the Whites’ promotion hopes.

There is now real fear that Leeds could miss out on automatic promotion for the second season running, and Farke has been urged to make some tough decisions this week.

Leeds have seven more games to play in the Championship season, and one of their next opponents has suffered a massive injury problem, which could have a bearing when the two sides meet in April.

Championship rivals lose player for the rest of the season, and it’s a big blow ahead of facing Leeds United

Leeds will take on Preston North End at Elland Road on 12th April, and the good news for the Whites is that their opponents will be without their first-choice goalkeeper.

Preston boss Paul Heckingbottom revealed this weekend that the goalkeeper picked up an ankle injury last week and he will be out for the rest of the season.

He conceded that it is a massive blow for the team as they approach the business end of the season.

“He’s got a nasty ankle injury which he suffered in the gym in the international break”, Paul Heckingbottom said ahead of the FA Cup clash this weekend.

“He’s going to be out for the season now which is a big blow for him and for us.”

Leeds need all the luck they can get at the business end of the season

The Yorkshire giants are now reeling after just two wins in their last six games, and what appeared to be a procession towards promotion has turned out to be a fight for their lives.

Leeds have dropped points against teams they were expected to beat, and it appears the pressure is telling on the players at a crucial stage of the campaign.

The trip to Luton is now big, but no game will be easy from now until the end of the season, given how much pressure the Leeds players are under to get promoted.

A game against Preston looks easy for Leeds, but Swansea seemed the same and look what happened. Heckingbottom missing his first-choice goalkeeper is the kind of luck the Whites need.
