‘It’s inevitable…’ – talkSPORT pundit delivers brutally honest Leeds United relegation verdict – fans will agree

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke.

Getting closer to the midway point of the season, Leeds United fans can see where the club could end up at the end of the season. They are close to the relegation zone, which means they may be drawn into the survival dog fight as the season progresses.

West Ham, Burnley and Nottingham Forest are the other teams expected to be fighting to avoid the drop. Wolverhampton Wanders have just two points after 17 games and will likely be the first to be relegated.

The past few games have seen Daniel Farke’s side pick up some crucial points as they fight for survival. It started with the defeat at the Etihad; since then, the Whites have gone four games without a loss.

Talksport pundit gives Leeds United relegation verdict

Leeds recorded a huge victory over Crystal Palace at Elland Road, which put the whole league on notice. A brace from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and goals from Ethan Ampadu and Anton Stach sealed the huge win at home.

And now, some pundits are changing their opinion on whether the team will avoid relegation. Sam Matterface on talksport was comparing the difference between Leeds United and West Ham in the last couple of games:

“There seems to be a lack of fight at West Ham United, whereas at Leeds you’ve got a lot more of that, the crowd get behind them.”

Statistic Home Away
Points 15 4
Goals 17 7
Goals Conceded 12 19

”I feel like the crowd (at West Ham) have almost become apathetic, they’re so disenfranchised with the ownership, they’re so annoyed about the way the club has been run over the course of the last ten years that they almost feel it’s inevitable that they’re going to go down,”

January will be crucial for Leeds

Daniel Farke has done his best and steered the team back on the right track after losing four games. Now, the Whites are in a much better position and can look forward to the second half of the season. But this is where the ownership need to step in.

The 49ers need to spend in the winter window to help boost the squad as they prepare for the second half of the season. Despite the form and results, they still need a lot of quality in some areas. Ultimately, what the ownership of the club decide to do next month could be the difference between survival and relegation.
