Leeds United will travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in a big Premier League clash that will have ramifications at both ends of the table.

Daniel Farke’s side will remain 15th in the table regardless of the result tonight. However, they have an incentive to get something from the trip to increase their buffer over the relegation zone.

Manchester United have lost just once since Michael Carrick took charge in January, and are third in the Premier League table, looking to secure Champions League football for next season.

18 Tottenham Hotspur 32 -11 30
19 Burnley 32 -30 20
20 Wolverhampton Wanderers 32 -34 17

Leeds and Manchester United are at different ends of the table and have wildly different goals. However, Gary Neville is all too aware of the viciousness of their rivalry.

Gary Neville issues a warning ahead of tonight’s game

The 1-1 draw at Elland Road between the two sides in January led to the sacking of Ruben Amorim at Manchester United and changed the course of their season.

Manchester United are favourites going into the game, but Neville has indicated that it is not a given that they will win at home tonight.

He stressed the importance of points for Leeds at this stage of the season and insisted that the viciousness of the rivalry between the two sides can match any big game in England.

Neville said on Sky Sports News: “Leeds need points, it’s a big Monday Night Football, it’s an incredible rivalry, one of the most vicious rivalries that you’ll see,

“Maybe not talked about as much as Manchester United vs Liverpool or Manchester United and Manchester City, but anybody who supports Manchester United and Leeds United will know the history behind that rivalry.

“It’s a big week.”

Leeds need to believe they can get something tonight

Daniel Farke’s side have remained resilient and tough to beat, but a six-game winless run has started to drag them closer to the relegation picture.

Tottenham’s slump has helped Leeds keep their distance from the bottom three, though the gap is still only three points.

They now face a Manchester United team that has lost just once since Michael Carrick took charge and currently sit comfortably in third.

Leeds know they need to come away from Old Trafford with something, but it will take a special performance from Farke’s men to get the better of United.

At this stage of the season, a win could go a long way toward securing survival, especially with Spurs yet to win a game since the turn of the year.
