‘I’ve never seen this before…’ – Leeds United handed major boost as relegation rivals riddled with injuries to multiple key players

Leeds United face Crystal Palace this weekend as they hope to get a result to dig themselves out of trouble. Losing their last two games have made the task difficult.

Their relegation rivals have now closed the gap on them, and the Whites now have to look over their shoulder ahead of this weekend. Almost all the bottom six teams have difficult matches this week. The results could change the order of teams near the bottom of the table.

As things stand, it looks like Wolves and Burnley are the most likely to go down. But then after those two teams, only three points separate Leeds, Spurs, West Ham and Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham hit with major injury news

Spurs look to be having the worst run out of any team near the bottom of the table. The London club are in poor form, and interim boss Igor Tudor has not been great. He has failed to win any league games since he took over, and ahead of this weekend, he has more problems to deal with – the club have a very long injury list.

“No, no, no, they [Palhinha and Romero] are out. Micky is also out, Bissouma is out, for the muscles.”

“Conor [Gallagher] has some fever but probably will be in. So, we have again a lot of problems to make first 11.

“This is how it is in this club, this happen all the time. We start to build something, then happens something, or a red card, or last game, or three or four injuries.

“This is very rare that happens in my career. I never see these situations. Every game, missing two players.

“The next game and a red card. It’s very rare, very unusual, but we need to accept this. And try to change the things you can change.

“On these things you cannot do nothing.”

Leeds United have problems of their own

The Whites have to bounce back from two defeats ahead of their trip to Crystal Palace. Fans will be concerned considering Leeds United’s poor away form this season. But there is hope as Farke’s men have gotten huge results away to Chelsea and Aston Villa in their last few away games. They will also be buoyed by the fact that Palace had a Conference League game on Thursday, and will have limited rest. The last time the two teams faced off, Leeds won 4-1, hopefully the club can pull off something similar on Sunday.
