Leeds managed to salvage a point on Sunday afternoon following a very poor performance in which they offered very little in the way of scoring chances.
But thanks to the effort of Patrick Bamford in the 86th minute, Leeds managed to walk away with something they admittedly probably didn’t deserve. Raphinha beat former Leeds defender Charlie Taylor with a silky bit of skill before his shot fell to Jamie Shackleton. Shackleton’s effort deflected into the path of Bamford who tapped it into the net.
To say Burnley were aggresive in this game would be an understatement. Ashley Barnes should really have seen red for a challenge on Stuart Dallas, and Ben Mee was fortunate to only see yellow when he clattered Bamford on the counter. But the player Bamford name dropped in his post-game interview was James Tarkowski.
“I don’t want to be disrespectful but you know what you’re going to get against Burnley.” Bamford alluded to the physical nature of Burnley’s style. “I was a bit annoyed with Tarkowksi to be fair…he tried to do some werid Jiu-Jitsu thing on me, I don’t know what he was doing.”
Bamford was clearly annoyed at how physical Tarkowski was, something the Burnley defender relishes and made light of on Twitter, posting the following GIF in response.
