Leeds United know the task ahead of them in the Premier League. But recording their first win against Everton was the best start they could have wished for.
The Elland Road atmosphere counted for a lot of Monday night, as Leeds made the game uncomfortable for David Moyes’ side. Daniel Farke’s team were physical and aggressive all over the pitch with Ao Tanaka and Anton Stach standing out. Leeds could have won the game by more goals, but only ended up with a 1-0 win thanks to a penalty from Lukas Nmecha.
The Whites earned a lot of plaudits from their performance, which showed that they will be a difficult opponent to beat this season.

Leeds and Sunderland both got wins in their Premier League opening games last weekend. And now, that has sparked up a conversation about who goes down this season. With some poor performances from the likes of West Ham, opinions are changing on who could stay up this season.
Jamie Redknapp believes Leeds are good enough to finish above some of these clubs this season:
“Graham Potter and West Ham need help.
“If I’m Sunderland, Burnley or Leeds I’m looking at West Ham and thinking they are the ones.
“Those promoted teams will be looking at West Ham and thinking, we can finish above them.
“On that showing tonight, those teams will believe that they will finish above them.”
Daniel Farke’s side are away to Arsenal on Saturday.
Will Leeds survive relegation this season?
Looking at how well the Whites have done in the transfer market, there is every chance they can survive this year. Bringing in quality players from top leagues in Europe closes the gap on the rest of the clubs in the Premier League. If Daniel Farke is able to get the team firing on all cylinders, Leeds could shock a lot of people and beat the odds this year.
It is a very similar scenario to 2020, when nobody expected the Whites to survive, but they ended up finishing in the top half of the division.
