Amidst the rumours of a potential Daniel Farke exit, some old comments of Jose Mourinho have resurfaced. The current Fenerbahce boss boldly claimed that he will never join a team that will be battling relegation.
“…I’m never going to a team fighting relegation. I will never go.” he said to Sky Sports.
“I get upset, and I’m not in the period of my career to get upset. I’m in the period of my career to be happy all the time and at this moment playing in European competitions, I am getting upset all the time. But I’m not going to fight relegation. It’s too hard! Honestly, I believe that has to be the hardest thing.
“It’s more difficult than playing for titles. It has to be very hard emotionally, because it’s something that changes lives. I think it’s brave guys that do it.”
The 49ers recently released a statement on the status of the club, but failed to address Daniel Farke’s situation directly.
Will Mourinho replace Daniel Farke?
In short, it is ridiculous to give this rumour any sort of support. Daniel Farke has earned his stay at the club especially after what he has done this season. Two years in charge – his first season ended in the Championship playoff final and this season, Leeds were automatically promoted.
What makes this year even better is the fact that he lost three of his best players and still managed to win promotion. Guiding a team without Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter is an amazing feat on it’s own.
As for Jose Mourinho, he will not take over a newly promoted club. It is not his choice of club; he is currently at one of the biggest clubs in Turkey who regularly compete in Europe.
