Leeds United will go into next season with Joel Piroe as their first choice striker. But multiple conflicting reports suggest that there are discussions within the club over the position.
Some sources at Elland Road have doubts over Piroe’s ability translating to the Premier League. This has shown, as recent news have linked the club with moves to some high profile strikers.
Daniel Farke is said to be looking for some serious firepower in attack next season.

When it comes to adding depth to the center foward position, Leeds seem to be working on that. The club have been actively linked with moves for experienced Premier League strikers Jamie Vardy, and more recently Callum Wilson. Both would provide goals up top next season.
But there has been a very quiet suggestion of a solution within the club. Some believe that Harry Gray should be part of the first team next season to provide squad depth up top. Journalist Adam Pope agrees with this notion, and said on BBC West Yorkshire Sport that it is something Leeds and Daniel Farke should consider:
“I don’t know when you’re that talented, I think you’d be allowed to do that (involve him in the squad),”
Gray made it known near the end of last season, that he has his eye on a first team place next year:
“Yeah, I’m enjoying it. It’s been a good week to be honest. I just want more, I want to keep scoring goals but hopefully in the first team next year, prove myself.”
Should Leeds rely on Harry Gray next season?
Why not? Archie Gray made his impact at the club last year in a similar fashion. Sometimes age does not really matter, quality does. Harry Gray has shown what he can do at youth level, and might take his chance with the first team. There have been a few examples of young talents making their marks as teenagers in the Premier League – Manchester City’s Phil Foden, and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka come to mind.
Keeping Gray around the first team is not a bad thing. In fact, it could shape his young career.
