Just about a week into the summer transfer window, and Leeds United have more questions than answers. After what has transpired this week, there seems to be nothing definitive.
Reports claimed that Illan Meslier is being offered to clubs in an effort to move him on; are there any concrete offers? And this also raises concerns on who will be in goal next season.
The future of some players at the club remain unresolved. No news has been heard after discussions with Sam Byram and Junior Firpo over new contracts.

Junior Firpo’s future is yet to be decided. The defender has held talks with Leeds United, and it has been reported that there is a huge offer on the table. No one knows where his future lies. But Graham Smyth may have some inside information. He spoke on the Inside Elland Road Podcast hinting at what could happen with the defender:
“My suspicion is that the length of the deal he’s been offered won’t be the same as elsewhere,” Smyth said.
“A question mark still hangs over his head at Premier League level.
“I would be leaning towards an exit (for Firpo).”
The 28-year old has been offered to clubs around Europe this summer according to reports. His agency held a meeting with Lazio a few weeks ago, and it looks like a deal could materialize. AC Milan also have the left back on their shortlist as they consider the future of their first choice starter Theo Hernandez.
Smyth is right
There are just too many incentives for Junior Firpo outside Elland Road. He may have a more stable contract, and possibly a bigger salary, but the alternative prospects are hard to ignore.
Lazio, AC Milan, and recently, Lyon all have qualified for European competition this season. This offers a big chance for him to further his career instead of battling relegation next year.
