Daniel Farke guided Leeds United to a huge win over Wolves on the road on Saturday. It was the first time this season that the Whites had won a game away from home in all competitions.
The reactions after the Fulham game were a bit over the top, as Farke pointed out to the fans in the press conference after the loss. Now, the atmosphere around Elland Road looks positive headed into next week. The Leeds boss even joked that fans could be discussing European football after the win over Wolves:
“The narrative in this club changes every week.
“With seven points, everyone will now discuss Europe. Football is emotions and people can fear the worst after a loss.
“I am glad we send them home to a nice weekend. We stay humble. They can dream a bit.”

On Saturday, Daniel Farke seemed to be making all the right moves. His decision to stick with the front three paid off as two of them were on the scoresheet against Wolves. The tactics were also spot on as Leeds secured a huge win.
Journalist Graham Smyth wrote a report on the result at Wolves, where he said that Farke had made one ”mistake”. The Leeds boss decided to start the game off on the touchline without an overcoat, but quickly went to look for one when the rain started pouring:
“A minute later, he added an overcoat. Going out into that weather two clubs shy was the only mistake he seemed to make,” Smyth said.
Illan Meslier involved in incident on Leeds United bench
That was not the only interesting thing that happened near the Leeds bench. Smyth reported that there was an incident in the game when backup goalkeeper Illan Meslier had to leave the dugout. The Frenchman and assistant manager Eddie Riemer came out of the dugout to voice their frustrations out after a shocking decision by the referee.
“Meslier and Riemer storming out of the dugout to remonstrate furiously with the fourth official as Jack Harrison was denied a free-kick,” Smyth said.
Thankfully they did not break any rules, and did not receive yellow cards during the game.
