If ever there was a doubt over Kalvin Phillips’ credentials, then his performance against Hungary last night for England certainly but that to bed.
However, in doing so, the Leeds midfielder is now attracting increasing attention for his signature.
Yorkshire Evening Post Leeds United writer Graham Smyth, was asked by a fan if – in the interview done by Victor Orta for his newspaper – Phillips could be sold in summer 2022.
However, Smyth, in just five words, refuted such claims with: “No, I don’t imagine so.”
Phillips has become one of the most sought-after defensive midfielders in the game following a series of stunning performances since Marcelo Bielsa took over at Elland Road.
In fulfilling his boyhood dream of taking Leeds to the Premier League some pundits, like Gabby Agbonlahor, believe that Phillips’ future lies elsewhere.
