Leeds United are accelerating towards securing a deal to bring in their ninth new signing of the summer transfer window. The Whites are looking to add more before the window closes on September 1st, but the arrival of another new face is imminent.
The Whites secured the signature of Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer last week. The striker signed a three-year contract and will bolster the club’s goalscoring options in the Premier League this season.
Leeds made a brilliant start to their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 win over Everton at Elland Road, and ahead of the game, chairman Paraag Marathe teased more transfers, with the club expected to be one of the busier teams towards the end of the summer transfer window.
Leeds are on the cusp of signing their ninth new face of the summer, with Noah Okafor on the verge of completing a transfer to Elland Road from AC Milan in the next 24 hours.

Noah Okafor is joining Leeds United because of the lure of the Premier League

Leeds have an agreement in place with AC Milan to sign the 25-year-old wide player this summer. The Whites have agreed to pay a fee of up to £18m for the winger.
Okafor is scheduled to undergo a medical with Leeds later today, and was spotted on a private jet, which is on its way to England.
According to Sky Italia via Tutto Mercato, AC Milan would have preferred to hold on to Okafor after a slew of impressive performances during pre-season this summer.
However, Okafor pushed for a move once Leeds showed interest and tabled a concrete offer to take him to Elland Road.
The winger wants to play in the Premier League, and the lure of performing in England’s top flight was too hard for him to turn down this summer.
Okafor is keen to test himself in the Premier League after a couple of disappointing seasons in Italy and sees Leeds as the ideal platform to prove his worth in England.
Will a winger leave Leeds before the window closes?
Leeds started the season with Wilfried Gnonto, Largie Ramazani and Daniel James as the wingers in the team, and Noah Okafor is set to join.
Brenden Aaronson was also deployed in the wide areas during pre-season, and it seems the club could look to move on a player in the coming days.
Largie Ramazani received approaches from European clubs earlier in the summer, but made it clear that he wanted to stay at Elland Road this summer.
However, Okafor’s arrival is likely to push him down the pecking order, and minutes could be hard to come by for him at Leeds.
It remains to be seen whether Leeds and Ramazani decide to part ways on a loan deal before the September 1st transfer deadline.
