Leeds United are looking to lock automatic promotion in the final eight games of the season but recruitment work has already started behind the scenes. The Whites are almost certain to sign a striker or two in the summer if they get promoted and several players are being looked at. Leeds’ wage bill will grow exponentially if they are in the Premier League but it is becoming clearer and recruiting for the top flight will be far more expensive than anticipated.
Manor Solomon has been the only striker of note at Leeds United this season. Mateo Joseph has scored twice and Patrick Bamford has spent most of the season on the treatment table.
Leeds are looking at several strikers ahead of the window and want to bring in a forward with Premier League experience if they get promoted at the end of the season.
The Whites have been keeping tabs on several names in England but former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, who is currently in Italy, has also emerged as a key target for the club ahead of the summer.
Leeds United have a serious interest in Tammy Abraham
The 27-year-old forward has been in Italy since 2021 and is currently on loan at AC Milan from Roma this season.
The Rossoneri have an option to make the move permanent but they have not made a decision on whether to sign the forward in the next summer transfer window.
Abraham has suitors in England and there are suggestions that he wants to return to the Premier League at the end of the season.
Leeds are among the clubs who are interested in signing him but he is also attracting the attention of clubs such as Everton and West Ham as well.
The Whites will need to secure promotion to the Premier League to sign Abraham and also agree to meet the forward’s wage demands.
According to Calciomercato.com, he is expecting a salary of €6m per season, which roughly amounts to £97,000 per week.
Leeds have a decision to make
Daniel Farke and his players are focused on wrapping up promotion in the next eight league games but the club are already making transfer decisions for the summer.
Leeds have already decided to try and sign Manor Solomon on a permanent deal from Tottenham if they get promoted to the Premier League this season.

The Whites also have to make a call on which striker to pursue as they will have little time to waste in the market if and when promotion is secured.
Abraham is a Premier League-proven striker but his recent goalscoring record has been patchy and Leeds would need to decide whether he is worth paying almost £100,000 per week in wages.
Roma are also expected to jack up the price if a Premier League club try to sign him given the riches available to English top-flight sides.
